National Birthday Trust Fund

The Trust Fund was established in 1928 out of a concern to address the high incidence of maternal mortality.

Its original aims were to support maternity hospitals and contribute to the development of midwifery practice. The Trust Fund has been funding perinatal research since 1935 and played a leading role in three major statistical surveys in 1946, 1958 and 1970. The surveys addressed the sites, management strategies and outcomes of all births that took place in a single week in these years.

Now administered by Wellbeing of Women, the National Birthday Trust Fund continues to contribute to the development of medical careers in Obstetrics & Gynaecology through its grants and bursaries.

There are many ways you can donate to Wellbeing of Women. Your donation will help us continue to fund research into all aspects of reproductive health.
