NBTF Elective Bursaries
Eloise Helme, University of Bristol, was awarded £1,000 for a medical elective to spend two months studying perinatal medicine in Tonga and Sydney. Her project looks at the factors influencing a mother's decision to breastfeed or not.

Mary McCauley, University of Aberdeen, was awarded £1,000 for a medical elective to spend two months at the Tiruvalla Medical Mission Hospital, Kerala, India. Her project will look at the incidence and role of low birth weight in neonatal mortality.

Sarah New, Bournemouth University, was awarded £1,000 for a midwifery elective to spend three months in Sweden to gain a wider insight into the role of the midwife as a whole in Sweden, and to observe any different aspects of care that occur compared to the UK.
