Sarah Brown becomes Patron of Wellbeing of Women

Sarah Brown has announced that she has become patron of the women’s health and research charity, Wellbeing of Women.

A long-term supporter of the charity, Sarah Brown has now decided to take a more influential role in the charity’s work and recently attended The WoW Show at The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to announce her involvement.

Sarah said:

“I am honoured to become patron of Wellbeing of Women. Their objectives are very close to my heart. Tremendous advancements in medical research have been made possible by investment from Wellbeing of Women. I know that their work has benefited thousands of women and saved countless lives.

“The WoW Show demonstrates Wellbeing of Women’s supplementary objective which is to provide all women with high-quality, independent information on gynaecological health. This enables women to actively monitor and take greater responsibility for their health.”

Sir Victor Blank, Chairman of Wellbeing of Women said, “We are thrilled that Sarah has agreed to be our patron after supporting us for a number of years.”

“I can think of no one more appropriate to be patron of this significant women’s health charity.”

Wellbeing of Women is the only charity funding research and training into all areas of women’s gynaecological and reproductive health. The charity, which has been in operation for over forty years, funds research projects all over the UK into women’s health including: pregnancy and birth, gynaecological cancers, miscarriage and other women’s quality of life health issues.

Complementary to funding medical research, Wellbeing of Women increases understanding of gynaecological health through their awareness campaigns – encouraging women to take a more proactive approach in educating themselves on gynaecological health and the symptoms associated with gynaecological problems.

As part of the Healthy Woman campaign, which launched in late August, Wellbeing of Women host The WoW Show – a health show that features a series of health seminars on various gynaecological and quality of life health issues.

The seminars are led by medical experts from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and is a unique opportunity for all women to speak candidly with experts and other women experiencing similar gynaecological health issues.

Director of Wellbeing of Women, Liz Campbell said, “The WoW Show is one of the most important things we do. It gives ordinary women a chance to put themselves and their health first for a day.”
