WoW Woman Takes to the Plinth in Trafalgar Square

Inspired by reading about the charity in Fabulous magazine, Londoner Ally Steel took to the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.  Dressed in an all-purple costume as our new superhero 'WoW-Woman' she started her stint on the plinth at 7am on Wednesday 29th July 2009.  During her hour on the plinth she released 160 balloons each attached to a postcard containing a health fact.  She also distributed purple Quality Street chocolates.

Liz Campbell, Director of Wellbeing of Women said: "One in two women will suffer from a gynaecological condition at some point in their life and with the support from people like Ally and help from Fabulous Magazine, we can help to raise awareness of this issue. We're very grateful to her for getting involved in the campaign. She can be sure that her efforts will be helping us to inspire a new generation of women to look after their health".

Despite the rain and the early hour the staff of the charity turned out in force to support Ally along with a team from Fabulous and some of Ally's friends and family.

Anyone finding one of the WoW fact postcards can post it back to Fabulous Magazine and win £250 of Boots Vouchers. Entries for this must be received at Fabulous Magazine's office by August 21st and the winner will be informed by August 31st.
